For the first time the ENNOVA engineering company, with support of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, held the forum "GOELRO-3. As You Design, So Shall You Upgrade", which took place on June 21in the park-hotel Olympiets in Khimki. The official part of the event included presentations and panel discussions to analyse the challenges that could be encountered during implementation of CSAs (Capacity Supply Agreement) program. The program is aimed at a large-scale upgrading of thermal power plants.
The forum brought together about 60 participants from Novosibirsk, Ufa, Krasnoyarsk, Krasnodar, Moscow and the Moscow region. Among the attendees were the representatives of the generating companies and industrial enterprises, equipment manufacturers, engineering companies and specialists involved in software implementation to automate the entire life cycle of energy facilities.
The forum participants shared the information and ideas related to optimizing design process of energy facilities during CSA-2 program implementation.
Of particular interest was presentation "New Challenges - Error Correction" made by Olga Starshinova, Deputy Director General for Marketing and Sales, ROTEK, honoured power engineer of the Russian Federation, and Doctor of Economics. She told the audience about the engineering market in the power industry, main mistakes in CSA-1 and the way to avoid them in the CSA-2 program. The presentation of Olga Starshinova was much discussed in the panel. Kirill Frolov, the Chairman of the Board of the SRO EnergoStroyAlliance Association, summed up the results of the CSA-1 program implementation. He noted in his speech that over 6 years, the commissioning of new energy capacities in Russia had amounted to 30.9 GW, and the installed capacity gain - 23.3 GW. In addition, Kirill Frolov spoke about the main tasks of the CSA-2 program. Both experts noted that one of the most challenging issues was a considerable shortage of qualified specialists in the field of design and construction of energy facilities.
Anton Milto, General Director of ENNOVA, made a presentation "Current Trends in Energy Facilities Design." In his presentation he wanted to draw the forum participants' attention to current trends and challenges in designing thermal power plants, and possible solutions for the same.
“Quite a number of questions were asked after my speech. It means that this issue is really urgent in our sphere and some solutions can be found only by joint efforts”, said Anton Milto, General Director of ENNOVA. Also, in his opinion, the representatives of IT companies AVEVA and Autodesk touched upon an important issue of progress in creating digital assets of generating companies and better efficiency of their management.
“We discussed the steps that should be taken to create a digital prototype of the facilities at the design stage; what a designer can do in terms of creating a three-dimensional model of the facility, and how the customer can use this knowledge in the future”,- emphasised Anton Milto.
The participants of the “ENNOVAtion Forum” note that the event was an excellent opportunity for informal networking, exchange of experience with the colleagues, for finding new business partners and solving global issues that the industry faces today.
"We have managed to gather almost a full range of representatives from all companies which are going to implement the CSA-2 program. We have created a discussion panel for the participants to freely and openly exchange their opinions on urgent issues connected with bottleneck areas related to the implementation of an ambitious program. ENNOVA employees, the invited guests and personally I highly appreciated the event. Such an event is worth arranging again, perhaps, in a year or two, to make it regular for the duration of the CSA-2 program, which is 10 years," said Maxim Kozlov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ENNOVA.
